TikTok has become a very high paced, fix of dopamine. We all use it for different reasons, finding new recipes, workout routines, funny animal videos and more. However, one ‘side’ of TikTok seems to be growing more by the day. BookTok. The #BookTok has become one of the largest sides of TikTok having a massive, influential community that has changed how books are marketed. The rise of #BookTok has led to high-volume posts and real-world sale.

We all know that TikTok moves fast and books can be popular one day and unpopular the next. However, these 10 women seem to have BookTok in a chokehold with receiving high engagement within the community, focusing on the fantasy-romance (romantasy), contemporary romance, and thriller genres.

BookTok is shaping how these authors have marketed their books today. They need to fit their books into trends whilst adding their own spin on them, so their books start trending. However, BookTok also gives other’s the chance to market other authors books, give opinions on books whilst giving authors the chance to see these opinions easier and take into consideration what their readers want to read.
