Natasha Welsh: Broadcast Camera Operator

Hi, my name is Natasha Welsh. I’m 19 years old and studying a Media and Communications HND at City of Glasgow College. 

I have loved being behind the camera and recording videos for as long as I can remember. I love all areas of the creative industries, but camera operation and video editing is one of my favourites due to the artistic possibilities. 

A woman in media that inspires me is filmmaker Chloe Zhao. Directing is a largely male dominated field, and she has made quite a name for herself in the industry directing projects like Hamnet, Nomadland and Marvel’s Eternals. 

In the future I hope to work in the film industry, however I also have a strong love for social media and journalism and hope to continue work in these areas in my own time.
